Lewis Baker

Lewis D. Baker, Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), is a seasoned wealth advisor with over three decades of experience working with clients on comprehensive financial and retirement planning, with an emphasis on tax efficiency. He has built his success upon a foundation of investment knowledge, understanding the unique needs of each client, with the goal to retire comfortably and pass their wealth to the next generation.

A West Point graduate, Lew served his country as a U.S. Army Airborne Ranger Infantry Officer for over 12 years on both active duty and in the reserves. He started his financial career at Merrill Lynch in 1994 and became one of the youngest Vice Presidents at Morgan Stanley by age 30. Realizing he wanted greater flexibility and resources to offer his clients, Lewis launched his own firm, Baker Schilling Wealth Strategies, in 2002. With the addition of new team members, he launched Rock Creek Wealth Planners and Advisors, an SEC-registered investment advisory firm, in 2002, with a focus on in depth financial planning, customized investment strategies and portfolio management, and tax efficiency.

Over the years, he has served his community as a member of organizations focused on mentoring underprivileged youth – including Project North Star, Concerned Black Men, the Joy of Sports Foundation, and Ready Golf Academy. He has also given back to his alma mater as an outreach officer for West Point and currently serves as a service academy selection board member for Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes-Norton (D-D.C.).
